Best Kept Village Award 2016

Havenstreet has won the Medium Village Category again in the 2016 Best Kept Village competition. Congratulations to all Havenstreet residents. The awards ceremony was attended by Parish Council Chair, Veronica Hattersley. She was presented with a plaque, and a prize of £150. The village will also hold the shield for one year, which will be on display in the White Hart Inn. This was the second time Havenstreet has won the prize – the judges were particularly impressed with how well St Peters Church and the recreation ground were looked after.

The Footprint Trust is an Island charity that gives free, impartial advice on how to save on household energy bills.

IOW Council Collection Service

The IOW Council now operates a collection service for unwanted goods. The most common items are televisions and fridges. If the goods are in working condition and re-useable, the service is free, otherwise it is £25 per collection. Collection day for Havenstreet and Ashey is Wednesdays.
